Truly hope you enjoy and are inspired by this week’s episode with DeAnna.
In this chapter, DeAnna describes her childhood growing up in North Carolina, and how being seen as overweight as a child has impacted her life. She takes us back in the day, when her life was all about lawyering, being a personal trainer, and the brief stint she was into body building. DeAnna wanted a change, and decided to live and teach in Korea, a decision that launched her into travel writing, and tells us the story about the big idea she pitched which has led her to now being the senior editor at Travel Noire. She also puts us on game and shares how to pitch publications. DeAnna says that travel is an opportunity for her to reset, talks about how she’s practicing self care these days, and reflects on what it means to her to be an Alpha Kappa Alpha. She shouts out Carrie Cook from EmpowHERment and Shontel Horne from Travel Noire on the show.
